Description
Rachel Dungan, Director, AcademyHealth, will share her experiences supporting the advancement of health policy and systems research (HPSR), plus the enhancement of its impact. She will talk about her work studying the effective and ethical engagement of diverse stakeholders in health research activities, applying human-centered design approaches to develop and test disruptive innovations, bolstering the patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) data infrastructure on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) and her collaboration with the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) for an ongoing investigation of the literature on the engagement of patients, communities and stakeholders throughout research design and implementation processes. Dungan will also discuss her personal experience as a keratoconus patient and how it led her to become an advocate for vision research.
