Focus on Data Series
Data from research in vision science have several special aspects, including the need for appropriately displaying and analyzing data from 2 eyes from the same animal or patient and staging and severity scales that may need transformation for analysis, such as Snellen visual acuity scores. Articles in this series are intended for researchers who have had a basic statistics course, possibly years ago. Examples using data from vision research studies is presented to guide selection of appropriate procedures in statistical software. Code for selected procedures and the data sets used in some examples are available as supplemental files on the IOVS website.
